Durban

After disembarkation procedures are completed, you will be greeted at the port by our local representative.

Your first stop will be the Phanzi museum in Berea.

Their exhibitions deal with prejudice, myth, collective memory, histories, customs, traditions, power and loss. And of course, skill and craft and the materials that come to hand.

Continue to the Durban Botanic Gardens for a relaxing walk in the beautiful garden settings. The Durban Botanic Gardens is currently Africa’s oldest surviving botanic garden and remains a national and local asset contributing to plant conservation and education. This 15-hectare botanic garden curates major collections such as cycads, palms, orchids both indigenous and exotic in nature. Refreshments will be served.

Thereafter, continue to a local Restaurant for lunch and some free time on the Promenade of Ushaka followed by a short drive to King Shaka International Airport for your in time for check-in of the PONANT selected flight.

·        Rand is the official currency in South Africa. Euros and US dollars can easily be changed in the banks or exchange offices. International credit cards are widely accepted in the hotels, shops and restaurants.

·        We strongly recommend that all guests contact their medical practitioners prior to travel for advice on the appropriate anti malaria precautions and/or any other inoculations, vaccinations etc.

Day 1 – Cape Town

Meet at Cape Town Airport in the Arrival hall. Look for PONANT sign. You will be greeted by our local representative off the flight selected by PONANT or any other flight (provided that you have previously communicated your flight schedule to your travel agent).

You will be transferred to your hotel located in the heart of Cape Town just moments from the renowned Victoria and Alfred Waterfront (transfer time approximately 20 minutes).

Check-in in your room at official check-in (2:00 pm).

The day is at leisure.

Dinner served at the hotel.

Day 2 - Cape Town / Walvis Bay

Breakfast and check-out procedures

You will be transferred to the airport on time for the morning flight from Cape Town to Walvis Bay (flight schedule known at this stage: departure at 11h40 from Cape Town and arrival at Walvis Bay airport at 13h55, to be confirmed).

Before your departure, you will receive a packed lunch in Cape Town and will also receive a meal during the flight.

Upon arrival in Walvis Bay, you will be driven for an orientation tour of Swakopmund with a short stop to enjoy some cake, pastry and cup of coffee or tea.

Then, you will be transferred to the pier, to embark on board your ship.

Located 20 minutes from the airport, in one of the most popular areas of Cape Town (Victoria & Alfred Waterfront), the Southern Sun Cullinan hotel welcomes you in a contemporary decor. Its classic style architecture is reflected throughout the establishment and gives the place a timeless chic. In the comfort of your room, by the heated pool or at the fusion restaurant, you will enjoy a memorable experience.

·        A lunch box and a snack on day 2.

·        Flight in Economy class from Cape Town to Walvis Bay on day 2 including 2 pieces of 23 kgs check-in luggage & a 7 kgs hand luggage.
