FAQ
To discover the new PONANT EXPLORATIONS itineraries, you can use the “New” filter or go directly to the list of new cruises. New features are regularly highlighted on the website, particularly in the “By destination” menu, on social media, the Escales blog and in brochures.
To develop new routes, our experts set off on reconnaissance trips to regions that offer the best conditions for exploration. Once there, they meet with local communities and discuss whether or not they wish to welcome travellers. Together, they co-create the itineraries, with a commitment to respecting ecosystems and their inhabitants. Other factors to be taken into account include the technical possibilities for mooring ships and the feasibility of organising sporting or cultural activities, whilst ensuring the highest standards of respect and safety.
Thanks to their shallow draught, the ships in the fleet can access smaller, quieter ports. Thanks to its ice-breaking technology, Le Commandant Charcot is the only high-end passenger exploration ship capable of exploring certain destinations such as the , North Pole the St Lawrence River in winter or certain regions of Antarctica.
