Described by Le Monde as "the most delightfully singular pianist of her generation," Vanessa Wagner has built a career in her own image, blending classical recitals, contemporary creation, historical instruments, chamber music, and cross-disciplinary collaborations with other artistic practices.
Named "Instrumental Soloist Revelation" at the Victoires de la Musique Classique in 1999, Vanessa Wagner has since performed worldwide, continuously enriching her career over the past 20 years. In recent years, she has collaborated with artists such as Murcof, Rone, Yoann... and has been a guest of numerous orchestras. Deeply committed to contemporary music, she has premiered works by P. Dusapin, F. Meimoun, A. Crankshaw, A. Nante… She explores the full spectrum of the great repertoire, from Rachmaninov and Mozart to Berio and Dusapin.
Her 2017 album Mozart, Clémenti, which combines fortepiano and modern piano, was widely acclaimed by the musical press, receiving top honors such as ffff from Télérama and praise from Le Monde. In 2016, she recorded the critically acclaimed album Statea (ffff Télérama) with producer Murcof for the InFiné label.
Her recordings include rare or previously unreleased pieces, particularly from the minimalist repertoire, which she has a special affinity for.
Vanessa Wagner has been the artistic director of the Festival de Chambord since 2010 and founded the Festival du Musée de Giverny in 2020.
She has been awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres insignia and the Légion d'Honneur medal.
