Noémie Merleau-Ponty is a specialist in human cultures.

Trained as an anthropologist, she has lived and worked in a variety of contexts, from India to the United States, as well as the United Kingdom.

Noémie Merleau-Ponty has taught and conducted research at renowned institutions, including the University of Berkeley, MIT, and the University of Cambridge. She currently works at the CNRS. Her work has often been praised for its originality and its ability to shed clear light on complex issues. She has notably worked on questions related to globalization and its impact on cultural identities, a subject that is particularly close to her heart.

One of the most defining chapters of her life was her time in India. This country, with its mosaic of traditions, languages, and ways of life, deeply influenced her vision of anthropology. There, she conducted field research that strengthened her conviction that understanding cultures requires total and respectful immersion. Whether in the metropolises of Asia, the villages of Europe, or the breathtaking landscapes of the American continent, she has always sought to build genuine connections with the people she met.

What distinguishes Noémie Merleau-Ponty is her ability to make anthropology accessible to everyone. She firmly believes that knowledge should be shared in a way that is both understandable and engaging. Through her lectures, she strives to share compelling stories that spark curiosity and invite reflection. Her journey reminds us that knowledge is an endless voyage, and that every encounter and every discovery enriches our understanding of humanity.
