Bruno Saura is a Professor of Polynesian Civilisation within the department of Polynesian languages at the University of French Polynesia. He has a background in anthropology and political science. He wrote extensively on ethnic, political and religious issues in today's Tahiti, authoring several books and articles published in scholarly journals (Pacific Studies, The Contemporary Pacific, The Journal of Pacific History, Journal of the Polynesian Society…). He is now working on Oral tradition in French Polynesia and in comparative Polynesian mythology (Les cent légendes de la mythologie polynésienne, 2025).
