Andrea Marcolongo was born in 1987 in Crema, Italy. A Hellenist and graduate in Classical Literature from the Università degli Studi in Milan, she is the author of "La Langue géniale", "La Part du héros", "Étymologies", and "L’Art de résister". Her books have been translated into 28 languages and have sold over 400,000 copies. She now lives in Paris and is a member of "Écrivains de Marine". She is also a member of the jury for the "Prix du Livre d’Histoire des Outre-mer" and the "Prix du Grand Continent".
