Pesaro is the second largest town in Italy’s Le Marche region. It is a small, charming and lively town pleasantly located on the edge of the Adriatic and surrounded by hills that guarantee a temperate climate year round. Its streets are lined with many elegant homes from the Renaissance period. Pesaro is also the birthplace of the great composer Rossini, who wrote famous operas such as The Barber of Seville and William Tell. The house where he was born has now been turned into a museum that is open to the public. Don’t miss your chance to visit the Ducal Palace commissioned by Alessandro Sforza in the 15th century, the Oliveriano Museum of Archaeology, or the Municipal Museum, which houses a stunning altarpiece by Bellini.
