Ewa Leszczyńska is from the Instrumental Faculty of the Gdansk Academy of Music where she studied piano under Jerzy Sulikowski and also at the vocal faculty of the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatorio in Milan where she worked with Margaret Hayward. She honed her skills during masterclasses with renowned artists including Olga Pasiecznik, Izabela Kłosińska, Urszula Kryger and Thomas Quasthoff. She also received vocal and artistic support from Jerzy Artysz.
In 2012 she won First Prize in the Giosuè Carducci Competition in Madesimo as a singer, accompanied by pianist Tomasz Pawłowski. As a pianist, she collaborated with renowned artists such as Ewa Marciniec, David Fiore, Łukasz Hajduczenia, Katarzyna Trylnik and Gianluca Buratto, with whom she won the Rotary Prize in Milan. As a singer she has performed with prestigious pianists including Tobias Koch, Janusz Olejniczak, Ewa Pobłocka, Miyako Arishima and Bartłomiej Wezner. She also gives concerts where she accompanies herself on the piano.
From 2007 to 2010, she was a member of the Laboratorio delle Arti, della Musica e dello Spettacolo (LIMES) in Milan, participating in numerous opera and theatre productions. Her performances include solo roles in the premiere of Die 13 Sternbilder aus dem Wallis in Switzerland, Mirteo in the Leonardo Vinci’s Semiramide riconosciuta in Warsaw, as well as her participation in the Dunkle Zeiten Wien project at the Off Theatre in Vienna.
In 2019, she played the role of Ericlea in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria with the Europa Galante Orchestra conducted by Fabio Biondi at the Hamburg Philharmonic Hall. In March 2020, she sang the title role in Handel’s Rodelinda at the Royal Opera in Warsaw. She works with Baroque music ensembles such as Les Roses Sauvages, Arte dei Suonatori, Musica Florea, Royal Baroque Ensemble and Baroque Collegium 1685. She is also a member of the Multi Trio group with whom she did a tour of the United States in 2016.
She has performed in festivals such as Bach Days in Krakow, Chopin in Autumn Colours in Antonin, Baroque Operas Dramma per Musica Festival in Warsaw, Il Banchetto Musicale in Vilnius, Hamburg’s Venice Easter Festival, the Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój, and Chopin and his Europe in Warsaw. Since 2017, she has performed as both a singer and pianist presenting song recitals recorded for Polish Radio Programme 1.
