The route taken by The Soléal will take you to the fringes of the Arctic Circle, where the first Vikings went ashore in the 9th Century. There are many stories and legends of their passage, describing the country’s wide open spaces, the last frontier of Europe, forged by fire and ice.Fjords with their abyssal sides, unfathomable glaciers, high volcanic plateaux - Iceland’s natural heritage is both wild and fascinating and has retained all of its mystery.

On the edge of the Arctic, between vast glaciers, vertiginous fjords, volcanoes and boiling geysers,Icelandoffers a kaleidoscope of wild and romantic landscapes; a rare and tormented beauty redolent of the dawn of Time.

    LE SOLÉAL

The elegance of her exterior and interior lines and her intimate size (only 132 staterooms and suites)make this a rare and innovative yacht on the cruise market.

    Interior Design

With her fluid lines and a modern colour scheme combining natural wood with shades of grey and white, Le Soléal presents references to a nautical theme.

A stone’s throw from the jetty, crystal clear waters, tundra and beaches give onto the cerulean waters of Breiðafjörður. Scattered with its emerald-coloured lawns, this town, with its buildings that merge into the surrounding countryside, will most certainly win your favour.

On the rest of the coastline, imposing basalt cliffs inhabited by sea birds stand proud.

As you walk along the cobbled streets, you’ll come across rows of terraces with wooden furniture, where you can sit and try some scrumptious cream donuts with a cup of coffee. A vast stairway cut into the hillside leads you up to the emblematic feature of the town, namely the Akureyrarkirkja church. You’ll be amazed by the very beautiful botanical garden made possible by a microclimate.

Even in the town centre, nature is all-encompassing, because the streets are either overlooked by mountains or give onto the banks of the fjords. The historical district has picturesque houses of contrasting colours. The oldest date from the 17th century. You can see one of them inside if you visit the astonishing Maritime museum, which focuses on the maritime history of the Ísafjörður.
